Similarity, Plagiarism & AI Policy

To maintain the highest standards of academic integrity, it is the sole responsibility of the author(s) to ensure that their submissions are entirely original. Proper credit must be given through appropriate citations to all external works and ideas utilized within their manuscripts. Plagiarism, in any form, is a breach of ethical publishing practice and is categorically unacceptable within FESM.

To uphold standards, the similarity index for any submitted manuscript must not surpass 19% overall similarity. Specifically, similarity from a single source should not exceed 5%. Should a manuscript exceed the overall similarity threshold of 19%, it will be subject to rejection or conditional acceptance at the discretion of the editorial committee. In such cases, authors may be granted an opportunity to amend their manuscript to align with FESM's requirements.

AI tools may be used for grammar and language editing and formatting or reference checks and authors must specify the particular tool used, detailing the extent of its application. AI tools cannot be used for generating scientific content or images, data analysis and modifications.
